Do you like to take good and make it better? Delta Faucet Company has a great opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Indianapolis Team. Delta's Supplier Quality engineers identify, prioritize and resolve issues and risks impacting product quality and order fulfillment from the supply base.

We work with Product Engineers, Purchasing, Manufacturing and external suppliers to assure high-quality, on-time shipments to our customers through problem solving, quality improvements and cost reductions.  You should possess analytical ability, experience in several manufacturing processes and a deep understanding of how successful Quality Systems lead to reduced product variation and happier customers. You will need to make decisions in uncertain environments and synthesize solution options for management.


  • Gather and analyze suppliers' performance data to discern insights and problems, identifying root causes, and developing creative options for solutions, applying appropriate fundamental and advanced statistical methods.
  • Communicate significant issues identified, providing recommendations for improvement to your team and to management.
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategies and initiatives to improve suppliers’ ability to consistently meet cost, quality, and performance requirements
  • Support the development, qualification and implementation of inspection, test and measuring equipment.
  • Key player in determining the viability of new suppliers through gap assessments. If the decision is made to on-board the new supplier, the responsibilities will include prioritizing the identified gaps and tracking through verification.
  • Audit suppliers' Quality Systems and Processes for problem resolution or ongoing verification. Follow-up on any Major Corrective Actions that result.
  • Handle multiple assigned projects concurrently, with appropriate follow-up and follow-through skills consistently displayed. Independently follow items through to completion
  • Apply Delta's practices, specifications and industry codes.
  • Prepare reports and present technical and program information to team members and management regarding involvement and results of collaborative activities
  • Collaborate with Suppliers, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Marketing to develop and implement innovative concepts and solutions for product cost-reduction.
  • Identify and apply appropriate Advanced Product Quality Planning tools such as the Production Part Approval Process, Process Potential and Capability Analysis, Quality Plans, Failure Modes Effects Analysis and Measurement Systems Analysis

Education and Experience/Skills:

Ideally you will possess a BS in Engineering or related degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideal professional preparation experiences include collaboration in product design, engagement in manufacturing, practice in structured problem solving and leading internal and supplier audits. We primarily use MS Office applications for communication and organization but proficiency in statistical analysis and project management is also needed. You should have excellent communication and creative problem-solving ability and exhibit solid judgment and ethics. You need the ability to work on multiple projects and be able to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team.

Other Aspects

This position requires a willingness to travel, domestically and internationally, about 25% of the time. Additionally, the position requires participation in international conference calls (both morning and evening due to time differences).
