Purpose:                   

The Director of Supply Chain Planning leads three planning teams that are focused on helping Delta achieve industry leading service and working capital levels while executing supply chain modifications to improve cost and enable growth through conscientious supply chain execution of new product launches.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of Supply Chain Planning strategy and a corresponding deployment roadmap
  • Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to develop finished goods forecasts
    • Ensure no top line forecast bias and minimize SKU level forecast error
  • Efficiently and effectively communicate demand and supply plans throughout the supply chain (internal & external) in order to react promptly to changes or challenges
  • Manages planning and purchase orders with suppliers
    • Includes the order issuance, order changes, and management of supplier based quick ship programs & blanket orders
  • Minimize inventory days while improving customer service
    • Multi location distribution, high SKU mix with low volumes, ensure high quality of inventory, safety stock policy, customer collaboration projects & lead-time reductions
    • Collaborate with various cross functional teams (including Customer Solutions) to ensure service gaps are addressed and preventive actions are developed and implemented to exceed customer delivery expectations.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Operations to ensure the effective launch of new products to support Delta’s growth and marketplace presence
  • Aggregate level to master schedule production planning to aid operations & financial planning
  • Facilitate approach to capacity management to ensure timely resolution of supply constraints (internal & external) – i.e., Rough cut capacity planning
  • Oversees the implementation of projects (insourcing, outsourcing, external resourcing and internal transfers) and Engineering changes while ensuring no disruption of supply and minimization of excess / obsolete inventory
  • Utilize continuous improvement approaches to tackle problems or proactively improve performance and methods
  • Participate on various cross functional teams to ensure alignment and enable improvement to the business
  • Develop team leadership capabilities and succession planning
  • Ensure goal attainment of financial and performance-based metrics
    • Customer Delivery, Inventory Days, Forecast Error, Air Freight, Excess & Obsolete provision costs, PPAP, Supplier Delivery, Customer Fine mitigation, etc.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree from a four-year college or university and MBA
  • APICS Certification
  • 7+ years of Supply Chain Planning experience working with multiple operating locations and a complex product offering (assemblies & high SKU counts)
  • 5+ years leading direct reports
  • Experience utilizing CI tools / methods
  • Strong systems skills creating & using data, managing projects, working on and leading teams, developing processes, communication skills, and improving metrics.
