Delta Faucet Company has an outstanding opportunity for a talented Product Engineer to join our Indianapolis Engineering team. This Product Engineer will design, develop, and implement new products, product quality improvements, cost reductions, and product customizations to meet customer and market needs for Brizo-branded products. In addition, this role will take the technical lead for specific projects and take responsibility for all aspects of design control on these projects

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop and implement new products to meet customer needs
  • Design, develop and implement product quality improvements, cost reductions and product modifications to meet customer and changing market needs
  • Develop/Co-Develop designs requiring new materials, unique industrial designs and challenging manufacturing processes
  • Lead product development team in design coordination and control
  • Lead product development team in design verification and validation
  • Execute new parts and assemblies through pilot runs, PPAP, and deviations

Education and Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and have 2-5 years of product design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. It is essential that this individual has experience with manufacturing processes including but not limited to: machining, brazing, buffing, plating, coating, physical vapor deposition, plastic injection molding, rubber molding, zinc die casting, brass permanent mold casting, stamping and assembly.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of engineering design and manufacturing fundamentals. The position holder will also have demonstrated knowledge of the following: Quality management systems, statistical techniques for showing process control, standards and codes that affect the design and acceptability of our products, various rapid prototyping methods, test methods and design of experiments, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software systems, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices.

Project management experience is helpful, and the individual must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with confidence at all levels of the organization. Position requires a highly motivated, confident professional with a drive to succeed. Individual must possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and appreciate the contributions of all team members. This individual must be able to react quickly, be flexible to changing direction and have a sense of urgency to complete tasks on time. This individual must also understand that material and financial loss may result from poorly conceived or executed designs or recommendations.
