Job Description

Delta Faucet Company has an excellent opportunity for a supply chain professional to join our Indianapolis corporate office Supply Chain team.

The Buyer/Planner is organized by supplier and owns transactions for non-New Product Development items from PO release through invoice resolution. In addition, the Buyer/Planner acts as project manager, leading cross functional teams in executing certain Purchasing business cases.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Direct Material Purchase Order Management Responsibilities:
    • Review, approve, and release purchase orders
    • Follow up on POEDC messages (Expedite, de-expedite, cancel purchase orders)
    • Update promise delivery dates on purchase orders in ERP system
    • Interface with suppliers on day to day questions
    • Manage supplier shutdown activities including manual demand signals and manual purchase orders
    • Interact with various functions as necessary to resolve invoicing issues

  • Data Management Responsibilities:
    • Manage supplier inventory agreement processes as negotiated by Sourcing Department
    • Manage key supplier data accuracy (lead times, order qty’s, PO send method, etc)
    • Interact with Supply Planning Analyst in setting EN dates

  • Project Activities:
    • Manage projects as necessary (in-sourcing, resourcing, outsourcing)
    • Represent buyer/planner group on various cross functional projects
    • Analyze root causes, identify and follow up on countermeasures to resolve performance issues (ie – supplier delivery performance below goal, etc)

Education and Experience/Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a degree from a four-year college or university. Three to five years of related supply chain experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. APICS certification is a plus. It is essential that the individual have strong system skills utilizing typical ERP systems (SAP or equivalent), planning systems (i2 Factory Planner or equivalent), reporting systems (Crystal, Hyperion or equivalent), and analysis tools (Excel, Access or equivalent). The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills along with the demonstrated ability to work in teams with members from various disciplines.
