Position Summary

Delta is seeking a Vice President, Product who is responsible for the development and delivery of our strategic innovation pipeline and plan to achieve our product strategy, and profit and growth goals.  As a dynamic leader, the incumbent is responsible for leading Delta’s product development process from initial design concept through pre-production release.  The Vice President, Product will provide the vision, technical direction and leadership to the Product Development team responsible for the design, development and launch of innovative and market-leading products, from initial concept to successful delivery in multiple channels, enabling the company to increase market share within new and existing markets.  This position reports to the President of Delta and leads a team primarily co-located at the Company’s headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.


  • Actively participate as a member of the executive leadership team with key input into strategy and leadership at the company level.
  • Provide strategic direction and an integrated vision for the engineering and product organizations.
  • Fully own the product vision and roadmap, driving critical capabilities from concept to customer.
  • Responsible for the end to end product life cycle which includes market needs, product vision and strategy, roadmap creation, communication, and launch.
  • Engage with customers and internal partners to deliver roadmap updates and get product and process feedback.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to determine priorities, balancing overall complexity, and building/executing a robust plan to deliver on financial targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the development process and identify challenges and opportunities including a glass house approach to metrics.
  • Promote and sustain the development of intellectual property.
  • Introduce processes to gain maximum efficiency and quality to respond to changing market demands in an agile and flexible way.
  • Lead the technical and product marketing teams in the development of products which are customer-focused, innovative, competitive, and legally/environmentally compliant.
  • Build a team of top performing leaders who can balance the stated needs of the customer (internal and external) with what will be the most impactful for the business.
  • Inspire a high-performance team to continually come up with ways to create new products to address current and future customer needs.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; Masters preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience with significant experience in product and engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to affect positive change through organizational alignment in a highly matrixed environment is required.
  • Ability to translate product requirements into an actionable roadmap.
  • Proven success working with product, sales, channel, marketing and operations functions in a product-oriented organization.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with external partners and customers.
  • Creative problem-solver able to challenge the status quo to drive action.
  • Ability to drive alignment of priorities at the most senior levels of the company.
  • Proven organizational agility skills and the ability to establish credibility quickly and create confidence with customers, key stakeholders, and internal partners.
  • Travel up to 25% is required.
